The Wahta
("Maple tree" in the Mohawk language)

This  420 sq. ft. studio home was created in collaboration with Grand River Modular, a female, indigenous-owned company specializing in offsite manufacturing. Designed as a compact and flexible residence, the Wahta demonstrates how modular construction can unite thoughtful design, environmental responsibility, and efficient delivery.

Their expertise in precision offsite fabrication, paired with the craftsmanship of skilled trades, supported a streamlined process with reduced waste, faster timelines, and consistently high build quality. More than a construction method, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and community resilience.
